Hole-In-The-Head Disease

Hole in the head cause the sudden death of fish. It is also called HITH or HEXAMITA. It is curable if treated in early stage. (A.S.A.P)

Cause :

• Low water temperatures (< 25°C) are ideal breeding grounds for ICH
• Poor water quality.
• The most common way Flowerhorns get ICH is when they are feed live or frozen food that has already been contaminated with the parasite. 

Symptoms :

• Small pits and pimples grows on the fish’s head. As time pass it grow and form bigger pits.
• It is white in color, and sometimes mucous are visible around them.
• In addition to losing weight, becoming lethargic, and losing their appetites, the fish will produce white, stringy feces.

Treatment :

• Direct water treatment is not necessary because the parasite already stay inside the fish skin.
• 1st step do water change about 50%.
• set up temperatute to 30 degree celcius.
• add right amount of salt & give fungus treatment to avoid the disease to become worst.
• add Ocean Free internal medicine or use Bacta by Cz Aquaproducts.  
   
  
  
  
• Quarantine fish about 2-3 weeks in single tank.

-White poo

Cause :

• Internal parasites in stomach common cause for this.
• Live feeding.
• Poor water condition.
• High Protein food cause to worms in stomach of fish.

Symptoms :

•  Fish lost appetite.
•  Fish start pooping white.
• Which is sticky and look like gel line from anal.

Treatment :

• 1st step try to do 30% water change.
• Add some salt (recommend using epsom salt) 
• And if it doest work then....
• Use the CLEAR by Aqua Producct or OCEANFREE WHITE POOP for treatment.
• Keep fish without feeding and alone for three days with heater on for 30′ C temperature.
• once fish start to eat try to do 30% water change.

-White spot

 White Spot Disease

You will see many white spots appear all over fish (looks like bubble) Fins are clumped together and they act a bit more lethargic than usual. Fish stop eating and stay at corner of the tank. (stress)

Cause :

• Un-mature water ( not cycle enough)
• Bad water quality.
• Low water temperatures (< 25°C). too cold !
• Feeding with LIVE or FROZEN food which contain parasite.

Treatment :
Direct treatment is not necessary..because the spot is sticking through the skin. Uncycle water & cold water is a common cause for this disease.

To cure white spots :

• 1st if you dont have time to cycle the water..you just need to do major water change 50% to balance the water to amout of nitrite & ammonia that is needed for the tank and suit for the fish.
• Try to give ocean free white spot liquid medicine and add some salt.
• use with the right ammount.
  
• heather is a must to treat this disease. increase water temperature.
• After 3rd day, tank must be washed thoroughly to eliminate the causative agent.
